Brass vs Bronze: Understanding the Difference

Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc — it has a bright golden hue and is prized for daily-use pooja items like diyas, deepaks, bells and small idols. It's lighter, more affordable and easier to polish.
Bronze is an alloy of copper and tin — heavier, darker, and famed for large idols and heirloom sculptures. It ages beautifully into a deep patina and is traditionally associated with temple deities.
Rule of thumb: brass for the *ritual* (daily use), bronze for the *shrine* (long-lived, heirloom).
